As redevelopment continues in South Lake Tahoe, a new project is now under way at the corner of Highway 50 and Ski Run Blvd. Previously the home of long-time local favorite businesses such as Lake Tahoe Liquor, Hot Gossip, Posh Hair Design, and Goodfellas Pizza, this center is about to be demolished and rebuilt to fit the neo-Tahoe design-scape.

One wing of the new complex is already under construction, and demolition has begun on the pre-existing structure. The wood and stone motif flanking the exterior of the building resembles the new development downtown at the Heavenly Village and Village Center, but the businesses to come are unknown at this time,. It is speculated that KFC, Goodfellas Pizza, and Hot Gossip will return when the new center is completed, and a new dining establishment will occupy a key corner location.

Despite a declining national real estate market, new developments like this tend to have a positive impact on property values in the immediate surrounding area. With a location so close to Lake Tahoe's shoreline, Heavenly Ski area, and downtown casinos, shopping, and restaurants, this new center is sure to be a gem once the dust has settled...
